To Do and Not To Do

There is nothing worse than paying good money for a service and being disappointed with the end result. This is exactly the same for any type of intuitive session or reading.
Some people come away in awe of what they have heard, some indifferent,
and some more confused than when they went in!

If you have always been 100% satisfied with the readings you have had that is great news. However, if you have sometimes been a little disappointed,
there are lots of reasons why this may have happened.

Here are 10 tips on how to make the best out of our time together.

01

Research

Like any other service you pay for, pick the one that resonates with you. There are many different styles of reading, and each reader is different in their approach and services. We all come with our unique personalities – no two readers are exactly the same.

Do some research and pick someone that you are drawn to, even if that means not going with a recommendation from your friend or family member.

Read the reviews from other people this will be helpful, of course, but also searching out what kind of readings the person gives will be helpful in deciding what’s right for you. For instance, some people use the tarot or oracle cards as a launching pad that leads into a more evidential psychic reading with direct messages channeled from the angelic realm, ancestors, or other emissaries. Others focus solely on the cards and the messages that the cards convey surrounding your life. Some readers incorporate items such as crystals, pendulums, or even offer energy healing or reiki. It is a good idea to know what your expectations are and what you want from your reading. If you are not sure what is involved before you book, then give the reader a call and ask. They will be happy to put you at your ease and explain what they offer, what to expect from your reading and what you are paying for.

02

It’s not about “Keep them coming back”

Mystics, Mediums, and Card Readers have come a long way since gypsy caravans and sideshows at the circus. But, for many people, they can’t help be cynical at the thought of someone being a psychic – whether it is extreme curiosity, a fun-loving experiment, or they are seriously interested in wanting a personal reading.

The sole purpose of a reader should, first and foremost, be to pass on the messages received for you – to you.

That is what we want to do. So, try not to get too caught up in whether your reader is ‘real’ or “authentic” or not. You shouldn’t approach a reading looking for ways they could be wrong or to try to prove they wrong. Be open to what messages are received and what doesn’t resonate now, may resonate later or once you have time to reflect. It is okay to be cynical occasionally, but, if you are going for a reading – put the cynicism aside and be open to the full experience.

03

It’s all about you…

And so, it should be – you are the one paying. But if you have a burning
question to ask, let it be about YOU.

Your reader does not have permission to go into anyone else’s energy. It’s unprofessional and unethical. Wanting to know answers to questions concerning others’ lives, actions, decisions or future can lead to an unfulfilling experience. This is because messages received are for you and your experiences, your life, not that of others.
Focusing on someone else concerning YOUR reading will leave you
feeling the messages are inconclusive and confusing.

Think about what information you are seeking, ask questions in a way that can actually receive constructive messages and answers. By focusing more on direction and guidance, the universe can work a lot better at giving you clarity and constructive answers. Whether you phrase questions out loud or in your head is irrelevant, but, focusing on yourself is truly a must.

04

Be honest

It is amazing how many people are reluctant to ‘give away’ what is going on in their life to the point that they may withhold information or even tell little untruths.

Being dishonest or withholding information may have a negative impact on a reading. So, in any kind of reading, honesty really is the best policy. A reader may ask a question to help clarify a feeling or message that is being conveyed, don’t assume they are ‘fishing for information’. Honesty really is the best policy when getting the most from a reading.

05

Be open minded

Certain words, cards, or phrases sometimes cause us to dive into a negative meaning or interpretation. Keep an open mind and listen to the core of the message. If something makes you uncomfortable or brings up negative feelings don’t hesitate to ask questions or as for clarification. A reading should be a comfortable, fun and enlightening experience geared toward your highest and greatest good.

06

Unrealistic expectations

Everyone wants answers, of course we do. “Why is this? What should I do?
Will this or that happen? Will I find Mr./Ms. Right?”
When preparing for a reading, be careful not to set your expectations for specific answers as a priority. Be as open as possible to any and all messages that come through. Asking for exacts will only leave your feeling frustrated.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that all readings will be vague, but sometimes it is not possible to give exact information or an exact date, because that very much depends on the individual. Messages may very well be received to show how to deal with some issues before moving on, the timing may not be shown, because sometimes the issues are not being faced. The reader is there for guidance and can only show you the path, they cannot decide how long it takes for you to walk it.

07

Trust the Divine timing

Sometimes, timing is everything. Do some things keep popping up in your peripheral? Do you keep seeing certain advertisements or memes on social media? Did your friend or family member randomly bring up readings and an interest in getting one? Divine Timing shouldn’t be underestimated.

It is amazing and sometimes so unexpected when something or someone stumbles across our path at just the right moment, delivering
a much-needed message or planting the seed of an exciting new idea.
However, that works both ways and if it doesn’t feel like the right time,
then set back and reassess and reevaluate.

If a friend is excited about having a reading, has asked you to come along,
but you are feeling reluctant or resistance, then there is a good chance
that the friend will have a fantastic reading, but you are just not quite
there yet. You can definitely go along for support; you just do not
have to do what does quite resonate with you at the time.

Trust your instincts on this one. Book a reading
when the timing feels right for you.

08

Remember what you’ve been told

Sometimes even a short reading can involve a lot of information for you to hold in your head. The easiest way to remember a reading is to record it. Many readers offer this as a service or are perfectly fine with you doing it.

Note taking can be a bit distracting but writing down a few key ideas or messages can go a long way in jogging your memory later. If you are going along with a friend you could take notes for each other.

A reading is about your journey and some of the messages may not make sense or be relevant at that exact time. Know that not everything you hear, see or feel during your reading will instantly resonate or make sense. That lightbulb of understanding sometimes goes off further down our path.

09

Be prepared

Any messages you receive are for your highest and greater good, even the random ones. In other words, be prepared for and expect the unexpected. You can receive a message that comes out of left field, not at all the direction you thought the reading would go. Messages may be presented in a way that you need to look at things differently or to focus on another area of your life that may need attention.

10

Enjoy!

Know that investing time and money in yourself is a great thing. You can look at it as a treat or even like a hair appointment or spa day. It should be all about you. The focus is on you. A reading takes place in a safe space with a comfortable, friendly atmosphere where your reader is giving you and your spirit team their undivided attention to help and guide you on the path to your “True North”.
Absolutely enjoy it!

You think of yourselves as humans searching for a spiritual awakening, when in fact you are spiritual beings attempting to cope with a human awakening. Seeing yourselves from the perspective of the spirit within will help you to remember why you came here and what you came here to do.
